The City of Venice and Sertoma Club of Venice present the Independence Day Fireworks Display on July 4, shortly after sunset at the South Venice Jetty. The South Jetty will close the morning of the fireworks, and later in the afternoon, Tarpon Center Drive will be closed to everyone except residents on the road and patrons of the Venice Yacht Club and Crow's Nest restaurant.
The fireworks may be seen from Venice and Nokomis beaches, as well as other sites in the area.
Sertoma Club of Venice has been collecting money for the fireworks for several weeks to pay its $10,000 of the $25,000 display. The remainder is paid by the City of Venice.
