The Sarasota Succulent Society gardens are open the third Saturday of each month. A secret garden hidden away on the grounds of The Sparkman House, an historic 1938 depression era home, this mysterious garden is home to rare and exotic succulents from around the world with a Sarasota history dating back to 1950. Succulents require little to no watering which make them excellent for planting outdoors in Florida's climate or for keeping indoors as houseplants. Many plants, which are grown on site, are offered for sale at a reasonably low price. Cash or checks only are accepted. As well as the gardens, the historic 1938 depression-era home, currently being restored, is open for viewing. Your questions are welcome about history or plants. Bring along your cast-off plant pots to donate. Garden loving volunteers are also welcome to adopt this beautiful, peaceful setting.
